Event Details

The legacy of what is now Our Lady of Grace Parish began in 1931, when the pastor of St. Peter the Apostle Church in Reserve, Louisiana, purchased an unused public school building, moved it to his parish property and opened a school for African-Americans in 1937.   This monumental icon within the African American community in St. John the Baptist Parish, has serviced the community for over 70 years.   It has laid the foundation by cultivating and nurturing thousands of graduates that have gone on to become successful and viable citizens.  The school has also served as the primary evangelism arm of the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Parish.

The current state of the economy, along with other factors, has had a negative impact on the financial status of Our Lady of Grace.  Your support is needed in order to ensure this historic institution remains a viable and significant part of the River Parish community.

Please donate what you can to continue this great tradition.
